Google Buzz is here to quickly link all those who are in contact list. This feature was roll out last week and so far many have started using it. I believe its a small version of Google Wave but this is more a social media tool rather than a communication tool as in Google Wave.

It has been noticed that yahoo has different criteria to rank websites. Those sites which are on top in Google are not necessary be on top in Yahoo and vice versa. Some of the tips discussed here will help on how to rank high in Yahoo.
1. Ensure the website has text links and most of them going from the first page
2. Create your profile on Mini Sites like Hubpages, squidoo and wetpaint
3. Get atleast 100 quality link back from blog, directories, ezine or other relevant websites
4. Keep the website updated on regular basis
5. Add some content which are relevant to your product/services that would admire the customers
6. Promote your website in social bookmarking and video sites.
7. Last but not least ensure your site is submitted for yahoo to crawl.
Don’t opt for any black hat SEO and other such stuff, that would drain your resources and will bring no long term results

As we enter into 2010, eMarketing is not as it used to be 3-4 years back. I remember those days when we could do viral link building and the website would appear on top results. Perhaps, you can still find some excellent black and white hat SEO techniques to bring the website on top ranking in Google. But, this wouldn’t be enough in coming years, as you might be losing some of the concentration of potential clients in other location like craigslist, product search engine, social places and more.
So what should be our Web Promotion Strategy for 2010?
Modern era eMarketing is not about canvassing but it’s about consolidating. Instead of making 1000s of link back, it is good to find out target audience and serve them. While doing so, you may lose 20% of potential customers coming from different miscellaneous zone. But you may serve well to 80% from selective targeted zone; this would be like 80-20 strategy that 20% of marketing effort generates 80% of your business and 80% of your marketing efforts (seo, link building, etc) would generate only 20% conversion.
Now the question arises how to find out market status and tap those target audience. For this you got to do a thorough research, plus trial and error situation to find out which hub could give you maximum conversion
I would like to share here how a retail business B2C generates their average traffic
Google Organic Search 30% Google Organic
Google Adwords 10% Google CPC
Yahoo/ MSN 15% Other Search Engine
Yahoo/MSN Ads 5% Other CPC
Facebook 10% Social Marketing
Craigslist 10% Auction Sites
Rest from other source 20% others
The above is an average traffic results, the percentage may varies like instead of Facebook a B2C seller would have generated their traffic from Yahoo Answer or some other Social Sites but it is recommended to maintain this KPI as it minimizing risk of totally depending on Google for conversion.
The next generation boom will flush out all the paid advertisement and various models like Affiliation program, CPA and other would be in highlight, this shows that more and more businesses feel comfortable to pay high percentage on sales on sure conversion.
Finally, retaining the customer is important too, you may retain customer through newsletter, RSS, Seasonal Greetings and more as it cost so high to make a new customer, why leave them for other customer to cash them.

Most of us would have used Google Adwords and most of the time it brings good results and it actually bring value to the money we spent on Google Adwords. When we start spending on Google Adwords we got to be alert. Some of the tips mentioned here
1. Always ensure to break campaign into different pieces so that you can check the RoI
2. Never be to much optimitic about the results you might get through Google
3. Always get ideas from Google Sales person
4. Never try to take list of keywords in one time, make different campaign.
5. Get a hold onto the RoI and goal setting
6. Check analytics for the geo traffic and keyword traffics.
7. Check your adwords account atleast 4 times a day
8. There is a good option to start and stop the advertisement, this is very useful technique
There are many other goodies offered by Google, such as Google Checkout, Google Reader and Google Affiliate program. Try those to increase your quality hits to your website.
